Staff

This spring, 95.2% of staff reported that district culture had improved from last school year to this school year. 97.6% also reported that both transparency and communication had improved in 2025-2026.

The graph shows the percentage of students who agree or strongly agree that Beechwood has a culture of excellence in academics, the arts, and athletics. See our mid-year survey data HERE.

Attendance Rates

Students & Staff

Attendance is a national measure of culture. We are proud that students have a 96% attendance rate and staff have a 95% attendance rate showing the strong culture of Beechwood!

Staff Members

We are proud that 25 of our staff members are also Beechwood alumni! We love when Tigers graduate and come back to teach and serve future generations!

Impact Survey

School Climate

On the Fall 2025 Impact Working Conditions Survey, school-level climate had 82% favorable responses from our staff putting Beechwood in the top quintile nationally. In addition, the domain with the highest increase from the previous survey was emotional well-being and belonging.

Stories

Bike Collaboration

After Mrs. Gasser and Mrs. Taphouse wrote a grant for a kit to build 20 bikes, our middle grades students learned how to build every part of a bike from scratch, test them, and then donated them to the students at Guardian Angel! Board member Brad Hood graciously donated the helmets! What an example of students, staff, and the community working together!

Culture at Beechwood

Beechwood is a true community school and every one of our stakeholders plays a vital role in our success! From academic to athletics and the arts, we want to create an environment where everyone has the opportunity to grow. Watch THIS VIDEO to learn more about what it means to be a Tiger!

Graduates Walk

One of the special traditions each year is the senior and kindergarten walk. Our youngest and oldest Tigers get the opportunity to walk throughout the entire Beechwood campus to completing their first and last years in our special school! The rest of our students and staff love lining the halls to celebrate these special moments!

Learning from Students

Part of The Beechwood Way is that we are ALL learners and ALL leaders. One amazing example of this is when some of our middle grades IDEA Lab and Seminar students came in on their day off to teach our staff how to use some of the IDEA Lab equipment and technology on a PD day. Way to go, Tigers!

P-12 Collaboration

One of the special aspects of Beechwood is the P-12 collaboration, and our teachers have really capitalized on that! One example is 7th grade working with 1st grade for an Earth Day project! Our older students showed our younger ones how to use the child-safe ChompSaws to make a flower pot out of recycled cardboard. Then, they moved outside, where they planted!
